About Me

 

Chef Heather is a 2006 graduate of The Midwest Culinary Institute with a degree in Pastry Arts and a certificate in the Culinary Arts. She also has an undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College in Spanish and Environmental Studies. Additionally, she recently graduated from the Dietary program at the University of Cincinnati. She is working towards become a Registered Dietitian.

Heather is the Chef at The Clifton House Bed & Breakfast and has been there since 2006. She frequents local farmer's markets (Findlay Market, Hyde Park Market & The Northside Market) and cooks mostly with local & seasonal ingredients. The Chef produced her first cookbook, "Mornings with the Unwritten Chef," in 2009 and it is organized into seasons. The book can be purchased here or from the Bed & Breakfast.

In her free time, Heather is an avid runner, cyclist & swimmer. She also spends a lot of time in Yoga classes, kayaking, backpacking & skiing. One of her biggest accomplishments was completing Ironman Louisville in August 2009. She is now pursuing a 50 mile trail run this coming August in St. Louis.

Food & the Outdoors are two of Chef Heather's greatest passions and in order to combine her two loves, Heather provides food for two major races in the Cincinnati area. Since 2007, Heather has cooked up a gourmet brunch for the trail runners at Bob Roncker's Trail Series after the East Fork Backpack Run. She also provides a gourmet pasta dinner for the runners of Stone Steps 50k in Mt. Airy Forest every October.
